What is this all about?

Reconnect with Real Food

These days, it’s easy to feel disconnected from where our food actually comes from. With big food systems under pressure and grocery prices climbing, more and more people are looking to get back to basics and take control of their food supply. The pandemic made it clear just how fragile that supply can be — and that’s what sparked the idea behind Cultivate and Cook.

I’m here to provide you with the essential tools and knowledge to grow your own food and cook it with confidence. Using sustainable, organic gardening techniques and drawing inspiration from Permaculture’s ethics and principles, I create tailored strategies that help you establish a food-producing system suited to your lifestyle — whether you're gardening on a balcony, in a backyard, or across a farm.

As Permaculture founders Bill Mollison and David Holmgren put it:

"Creating gardens and landscapes which mimic the patterns and relationships found in nature, while yielding an abundance of food, fibre and energy for provision of local needs."

Grow It. Cook It. Nourish Yourself.

It saddens me to see how many people today rely on processed, ready-to-eat meals, often missing out on basic cooking skills and the joy of preparing nourishing food. Sure, takeaway has its place — I enjoy the occasional lazy Friday night too — but long-term health is built on real, whole foods.

Organic produce offers significantly higher nutrient density than mass-produced alternatives. When we grow our own food or cook from fresh, organic ingredients, our bodies can better absorb the vital nutrients they need. As we say in Germany:

"Du bist, was Du isst" — "You are what you eat."

So why take shortcuts with something as fundamental as your health? With a little planning and care, you can prepare meals that keep you sustained and nourished all week long.

Kitchen Garden Basics

As a seasoned chef with a deep passion for seasonal cooking, I love teaching people how to make the most of their homegrown harvest. That’s why I created the Kitchen Garden Basics cooking program — to help you build confidence in the kitchen while celebrating the flavors of your garden.

Cooking can be meditative and joyful — from harvesting ingredients to the final flourish on the plate. Whether you’re feeding yourself, your family, or friends at a dinner party, it’s a beautiful journey of creativity, nourishment, and connection.

Cultivating Health and Self-Sufficiency

Gardening is more than growing food — it’s a powerful way to support your well-being. It gets you moving, connects you with nature, and eases stress. Growing your own food also inspires healthier eating habits, greater food security, and a deep sense of self-reliance.

At Cultivate and Cook, I’m here to help you grow, cook, and thrive — one garden and one meal at a time.
